Pets at Home Group plc is publicly listed on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker PETS. The retail business operates Pets at Home stores across the UK; the veterinary business operates Vets4Pets practices (and the related Companion Care brand) through a joint-venture franchise model.

The Vets4Pets franchise model is distinct from the directly-owned model used by the other corporate groups. Each Vets4Pets practice is operated by a Joint Venture Partner — a vet who runs the day-to-day clinical and commercial operations — with Pets at Home Group as the corporate parent providing premises, branding, and operational support.

Pets at Home Group operates several hundred Vets4Pets / Companion Care practices across the UK, typically located inside or adjacent to a Pets at Home retail store. The integration of retail and veterinary services under a single corporate parent was specifically noted in the CMA's 2024 market investigation.

Every Vets4Pets / Companion Care practice must comply with the CMA's 2025 price-transparency order: publish prices on its website, disclose Pets at Home Group corporate ownership, surface lower-cost alternatives, and disclose dispensing fees alongside the right to a written prescription.

The CMA's order specifically considers the joint-venture franchise model: pricing is set at practice level by the local Joint Venture Partner, but the corporate parent identity must be disclosed. Pets at Home's bundled pet-care insurance and retail offerings are separate products and are not subject to the price-transparency order, but their relationship with the veterinary services must be disclosed where relevant to a treatment decision.
