UK vet ownership groups
The Competition and Markets Authority’s 2024 market investigation into UK veterinary services named six corporate groups that together own a substantial share of UK first-opinion practices. The CMA’s price-transparency remedies require every practice to disclose its corporate ownership on its website.

CVS Group
London Stock Exchange-listed (LSE: CVSG) UK veterinary group. One of the six corporate consolidators named in the CMA's 2024 market investigation. Operates first-opinion small-animal practices, referral hospitals, equine and farm practices, plus pet crematoria.
IVC Evidensia
EQT-backed European veterinary group. The largest first-opinion vet network in Europe, with extensive UK coverage alongside referral hospitals, out-of-hours providers, and laboratories.
Linnaeus
Owned by Mars Veterinary Health (Mars Inc.). UK first-opinion practices, referral hospitals, and emergency / out-of-hours care under the Linnaeus brand. Part of one of the world's largest veterinary owners.
Medivet
CVC Capital Partners-backed UK veterinary group. First-opinion network with associated 24/7 hospitals and an in-house out-of-hours care arm. UK-focused, unlike IVC and Linnaeus which operate internationally.
VetPartners
BC Partners-backed UK and European veterinary group. Operates first-opinion, referral, and out-of-hours practices, with particular strength in the North of England and Scotland.
Pets at Home / Vets4Pets
London Stock Exchange-listed (LSE: PETS) UK pet retailer. Operates the Vets4Pets and Companion Care franchise model, with practices typically located in or near Pets at Home stores. Combines retail and veterinary services under one corporate parent.
